Celtic are hoping that a big summer in the transfer market can see them to a record-breaking season next term.

While Rangers have aspirations of kicking on next term and providing viable competition, the target at Parkhead is much more ambitious.

Coming away as Champions next term will mean that Celtic have made in 10 titles in a row - something that their rivals will certainly find difficult to stomach.

However if the Bhoys are to do that then they'll need to make sure that they make a success of the summer's transfer market.

One area where they'll be keen to strengthen is in goal.

Fraser Forster has been heavily linked with a return to Parkhead, however reports have suggested that this deal could be too expensive to pull off.

That means that a number of other targets are being considered, including Newcastle United's Freddie Woodman.

That's according to Glasgow Live who've suggested him as a possible option.

The 23-year-old has spent the season on loan with Swansea City and has looked hugely impressive for the Championship side.

With first team opportunities unlikely to present themselves at St James' Park, it means that Woodman could be available next term on a temporary arrangement.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This is certainly one to watch for Celtic fans.

Fraser Forster is still the first choice target for the Bhoys, but due to the finances it could be a tricky move to engineer.

While there's plenty of options that the Scottish champions are assessing, this could certainly be one that seems plausible.

Freddie Woodman has been excellent while at Swansea City this term, but in truth he's unlikely to establish himself at Newcastle United next term.

A loan switch to a club like Celtic could be ideal for him, while also being a much more affordable option for Neil Lennon's side.
