Newcastle are well and truly in the groove, and it appears as though the takeover isn't proving to be a distraction.
That was in evidence on Wednesday night as the Magpies swept aside a troubled Bournemouth side 4-1.
It was one of Newcastle's best performances of the season, showing PIF exactly why they're planning to buy the club in the immediate future.
That's if they do eventually walk through the doors.
For 12 weeks now the takeover has rumbled upon but we're still no closer to hearing a decision.
Saudi Arabia and the Premier League are apparently still in discussions over a TV deal with Richard Masters admitting a resolution would be found soon.
Yet, how many times have we heard the word soon in the last couple of months? Too many times.
One day the takeover seems to be on and the next it's in doubt. However, Chronicle Live journalist Mark Douglas helped clear a few things up on Wednesday.
Speaking in a Q&A, he was asked about Henry Mauriss' £350m ploy to buy the club, while also talking about Mike Ashley.
It hasn't really been too clear as to whether the American entrepreneur is a serious competitor to buy a stake but it's been revealed that he is a genuine plan B for Ashley.
Douglas said:
"I don't know much of the Mauriss bid. Those who have dug into it are adamant that it's genuine and a fall-back option. The cynicism probably comes from his lack of profile and the convenient timing. I think Ashley is on his way out, whatever happens with PiF."
However, the biggest claim in that quote wasn't about Mauriss, it was about Ashley.
If Douglas is correct, he looks like he'll be leaving irrespective of whether it's PIF that replace him.

This is huge news for the Toon Army.
For years they have been protesting against their current owner, throwing their season tickets on the pitch and unveiling banners on a regular basis.
Ashley refused to spend in the transfer window and with a lack of progression following the Magpies around like a bad smell, they were keen to see him forced out of the club.
And it looks as though they'll finally have their wish.
Regardless of whether PIF finally get their deal over the line, it appears as though Ashley will be leaving the club for good.
Takeovers have fallen apart in the past and the current owner has stayed as top dog at Newcastle. However, that doesn't look like it'll the case in 2020.
