Manchester City welcomed newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night. One of the biggest talking points of the meeting between England's two finest sides is how the Citizens would welcome the new rulers of the land.Pep Guardiola confirmed that City will give Liverpool a guard of honour in order to show respect for their achievement, which will likely direct thousands of eyes towards Raheem Sterling. However, it's clear that one City supporter wanted to give the Liverpool squad a welcome ahead of time with a bizarre attempt to stop their team coach outside of the stadium. The fan was photographed stood in the middle of the road, blocking the path of the coach, causing the vehicle containing the players to come to a standstill for a brief moment.

According to the Mirror, another man then clocked the situation and removed the supporter in order to allow the coach to continue its routine journey.

However, although the fan didn't put up any resistance to being moved, he ensured to raise two middle fingers up to the diver before stepping aside.

The coach had made the journey towards the stadium, where some Liverpool fan had also gathered, with a police escort for protection.

So, yes, Liverpool have become Premier League champions for the very first time, but it's fair to say the fans of City and the players of City gave them very different welcomes.
