Everton are in the mood for a spending spree this summer.

The Merseysiders now have Carlo Ancelotti at the helm and with a manager like that in their ranks, they could attract players they've failed to buy in the past.

The Italian has made it clear that he wants to take Everton to Europe and with players like Philippe Coutinho and Everton Soares, he could achieve that.

Both players have been touted with switches but there is one player who is failing to escape the headlines as far as the Toffees are concerned.

That particular player is someone Ancelotti has already coached this term.

Everton have clearly been targeting wingers and creative players in the upcoming market but there has been a huge development in their pursuit of one of Napoli's wide men.

So much so, that the Toffees could now bring him to Goodison Park on a cut-price deal.

Ancelotti

The player in question is Mexico winger Hirving Lozano.

He has already been touted with a move to England in recent weeks but now it's thought that Napoli could be set to loan him out.

That's according to Area Napoli who suggest the club's president is willing to loan him out free of charge in a new turn of events.

Though, any deal could include an option to buy the player for a price in the region of €35m-€40m (£31.5m-£36m).

West Ham and Newcastle are also interested in the 24-year-old.

Lozano

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

On a free loan deal, this is surely a no-brainer for Ancelotti and Marcel Brands.

After all, the duo already rate him highly enough.

Brands once compared Lozano to Lionel Messi, citing his low centre of gravity as a particular plus point. Meanwhile, Everton's current boss liked him enough to lure him to Naples last summer.

Unfortunately, he has endured a rather troubled spell in Serie A. The Mexican has scored just four goals all season, falling some way short of the expectations he's set himself in his short career to date.

Lozano has been one of the most eye-catching players in European football over the last couple of seasons, scoring 17 times for PSV last term and starring at the 2018 World Cup.

Following that campaign, one where he bagged against Germany, he was named in The Guardian's top 50 players in the world for 2018.

In that piece, Lozano was described as "devastating" - an ode to the wonderful creative talents he possesses.

For PSV, he was a magician, conjuring up 40 goals and 23 assists in 79 matches. Everton would be silly to ignore him this summer, especially on a cut-price deal.
