Arsenal are clearly looking towards the summer but it remains to be seen what they will be able to offer their potential new recruits.

The Gunners are currently eighth in the Premier League table and have 46 points from 32 games.

They sit six points behind fifth-placed Manchester United and eight behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

With just six games of the season remaining, it seems as though Mikel Arteta’s side face an uphill battle to qualify for European football.

But they are already planning for life in the 2020/21 season.

Indeed, Sport Witness carries a report from Foot Mercato which outlines how the Gunners could strengthen in the coming window.

They could potentially lose Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who, per the report, has a lot of uncertainty surrounding his future, and it appears that an approach has already been made.

The report states that Arsenal have made an approach for Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga ahead of the summer window.

Boga began his professional career at Chelsea but he has been in good form for the Italian club since his arrival in 2018.

He has made 56 appearances for the Italian club, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists, and he can play on the left wing and through the middle.

If Arsenal do want to secure his signature, they face huge competition; Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach, Rennes, Nice, Sevilla, Manchester United, and Barcelona are all credited with an interest.

Boga would cost €30 million (£27m) and the report states that the Gunners are yet to continue their bid for the forward.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This could be an impressive move from the Gunners.

Boga has some superb numbers in Serie A, where he has scored 10 goals thus far this season.

Per WhoScored, he averages 1.7 shots per game, along with 0.9 key passes, a staggering 4.1 dribbles, while he is also fouled on 1.6 occasions.

He averages a pass completion rate of 86.6%, too, and could be exactly the kind of pacey winger needed to add an extra dimension to Arsenal’s attack.

He would offer some excellent support to Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe and bring some genuine pace and threat into their forward line.

Arsenal should try to get this deal done.
