Newcastle's takeover remains a constant point of debate on Tyneside.Over three months ago now PIF lodged a £300m bid to purchase a stake in the Magpies, but somehow, the saga is still rumbling on.Mike Ashley is set to leave the club, we know that much, but when that'll be is very much unclear.Saudi Arabia and the Premier League are searching for a resolution following a piracy scandal but following Richard Masters' comments on Tuesday, a decision still hasn't been found. Whether or not the Saudi's get the chance to enter the building at St James' Park is uncertain.Fresh reports suggest Mohammed Bin Salman, the leader of PIF is looking to invest in French club Marseille, but the takeover took yet another twist this weekend.Henry Mauriss, the American entrepreneur at the centre of a £350m bid to buy Newcastle issued a statement, declaring that his bid wasn't backed by PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi, a man of Qatari nationality.
Amid those claims, it would have been easy to suggest that PIF's attempts to buy the Magpies were again in doubt.After all, further interest in Mauriss could have Ashley thinking again about who he sells to.Though, The Athletic's George Caulkin has said that the Prince Investment Fund's ploy to acquire a stake hasn't been rejected and there has been no decision of any sort.Taking to Twitter, he said:

The fact that no decision seems imminent is truly baffling.
We've got to a stage now where the Premier League need to come out and reveal what's happening before they essentially rub Newcastle into the ground.
At the moment, the whole situation is unhealthy. There are so many uncertainties and issues surrounding the takeover that really, someone needs to come out and issue a statement.
Masters' claims that a resolution would come soon wasn't enough for most parties, especially the players and manager who are very much in the dark over their futures at the club.
Steve Bruce has been nominated for June's Manager of the Month award but that might not be enough to satisfy the incoming Saudi's. His job security is very much up in the air and thus, the players he trusts most should also be nervous.
It may well be a happy time to be a Newcastle supporter, but this wait is hindering everyone involved. It desperately needs to be sorted.
