We all love our food, and the majority of us all love a good hot dog.

There's nothing better than whacking on the barbecue and having a couple of sausages in a roll, especially once you throw on some fried onions and sauces.

But what if we told you there's a man who can eat 75 hot dogs... yes, 75, in just 10 minutes.

Well, a man named Joey Chestnut, who resides in America, can officially and proudly say he can do just that.

If you weren't aware, yesterday was July 4, which means Independence Day, a day that is massively celebrated Stateside and usually celebrated by having a massive eating competition. Despite the global pandemic currently ongoing, yesterday was no different.

Chestnut, who has a lot of history in the eating competition, was looking to win his 13th title in 14 years... and he accomplished that feat by demolishing 75 hot dogs in just 10 minutes.

That works out at seven and a half hot dogs every single minute. My goodness.

Not only did Chestnut win the competition, the 34-year-old also managed to do it by breaking his old record of 74.

He's clearly been training hard during lockdown...

What about the rest of the field we hear you cry...

Well, Chestnut's nearest competitor finished a remarkable 33 hot dogs behind him, eating a still very respectable 42 in the 10 minutes.

Speaking to ESPN after winning the competition, Chestnut said, as per The Sun: "It was hard.

"I knew I was fast in the beginning. It was like blistering speed.

"And the dogs were cooked really well today. Minute six is where I really missed the crowd … and I hit a wall, and it took me a little bit more work to get through it.

"This is a crazy year, and I'm happy I was able to get a record."

Well played, Joey Chestnut. Well played.

See you again next year.
