According to a poll on our Facebook page, 53% of football fans believe that Liverpool will retain the Premier League title next season over Manchester City.

Whatever your football allegiance, it would be difficult to argue that Liverpool have had anything less than a dominant season at the top of English football.

After an unbeaten streak of 44 games, ended only by a 3-0 away loss to Watford in late February, Liverpool were likely candidates for the title last season, losing only one game.

Many people predicted that Jurgen Klopp's men would win the title this season, but perhaps not so many thought it would be done in such a dominant fashion as it was.

Unfortunately, for non-Liverpool fans, the team completely ran away with the title this year, but there's always a chance that next season, the race will be much tighter towards the top.

After over 100,000 votes, the result for the winner of next season's Premier League title was decided by just 6%.

Whilst it's hard to imagine Liverpool having anything other than a successful season next time around, based on their recent form and general degradation of the squad after a very intensive season, it's fair to say that next season's race for the top will probably be much tighter than this one.

Despite a potential ban on European competitions for two years, Pep Guardiola's City will certainly not give up the fight for the top spot, and will likely look to make some marquee signings once this season has finally ended.

There's even, of course, an outside chance that teams like Manchester United and Chelsea could find themselves in contention for the top spot.

With the Blues bolstering their squad before the transfer window even opens, and the Red Devils looking to potentially add Jadon Sancho to their already deadly attacking force, these are two teams not to be taken lightly next season.

Realistically, though, Man City and Liverpool are currently on a completely different level to the rest of the Premier League, and the managers of clubs like Chelsea and United have already recognised that it might take a few years of squad building before they can properly compete with the top two teams for the title.

Only time will tell whether Liverpool are able to keep up their incredible form from the last two seasons, but for football fans in general, let's hope next season's title race is a little more exciting than this one.
