Captain America is now in Fortnite... yes you read that right.
Fortnite chapter 2 season 3 kicks off with a new edition to the franchise with the addition of superhero Captain America.
The Marvel superhero joins Aquaman as the latest playable superhero in the Fortnite world; free-to-play in its Battle Royale firefight game-modes.
For the price of 2000 V-Bucks – around $20/£13 in real world currency - the Marvel superhero is now available to purchase exclusively from Fortnite’s in-game store – a teaser trailer has also been released.
The Independence Day themed content comes packed with the Cap’s full outfit, his iconic shield (which also acts as a pickaxe/backpack) and a fireworks emote, which costs the gamer 300 V-Bucks separately.
Although this is the first time we’re able to see Cap himself step foot into Fortnite’s playable world, this isn’t actually the first time Steve Rogers’ famous suit has appeared in the game.
During the Battle Royale’s 'Avengers: Endgame' crossover event held last year, players were able to equip his shield as a throwable weapon, however, Rogers himself was nowhere to be seen.
The Marvel character joins the elite rank of other iconic figures in the universe to step into the Fortnite battlefield.
Cap is accompanied by Deadpool, Aquaman, and Harley Quinn who are all now available for players to don in the popular third-person shooter.
The arrival of the Cap is likely to be a huge hit with gamers and Fortnite fans alike. The new chapter in Fortnite’s third season is well underway and game developers will surely be monitoring closely this character’s progress. It may even entice a new wave of fresh-faced characters to join the battlefield in the coming months.
