Everton are looking to build on their impressive season.
They are currently 11th in the Premier League, eight points off sixth-placed Wolves, and they can leapfrog Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.
The two sides go head-to-head in north London and Everton lie just one point off Spurs; if they win, they will be level on points with eighth-placed Sheffield United, though they would need to make up a goal difference of nine to jump above Chris Wilder’s men.
The Merseyside club have been in excellent form under Carlo Ancelotti and have lost just three times in the Premier League under his management, to Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City.
To that end, it appears that they are looking to restructure their squad and Ancelotti seems to have a clear idea of exactly what he wants.
Indeed, a Serie A signing is seemingly on the cards as Everton look to move into Europa League contention in the 2020/21 season.
Per Tuttomercatoweb journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, relayed via Sport Witness, the Toffees are the frontrunners to sign a Serie A midfielder.
Indeed, Napoli’s Allan has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months, and a failed move to PSG 12 months ago saw his relationship with the club deteriorate.
And Ceccarini now believes that the Serie A club are already planning for Allan’s departure, as he is likely to move to Goodison Park.
He said: “In the event of Allan’s departure, for which Everton remains the most probable destination, Napoli has targeted (Dominik) Szoboszlai, a player Milan also likes so much.”

Everton are in desperate need of the glue to hold their midfield together, and a defensive midfield talent of the Brazilian’s calibre would be a great deal.
Per Transfermarkt, Allan is valued at £28.8 million and, while he has struggled with injury issues this season, he remains a top player.
He has made 17 appearances in Serie A this season, scoring once and registering one assist, and he offers the ability to both carry the ball and win it back.
Everton only have Mo Besic and Jean-Philippe Gbamin as their defensive midfield options and they have made just 11 league appearances between them thus far this term.
Bringing Allan in would give Ancelotti the opportunity to regularly deploy an anchor man and bind the midfield together.
