Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are simply unstoppable at the top of their game at Barcelona.
The Blaugrana made the trip to Villarreal knowing that anything short of a victory would essentially hand Real Madrid the title after their eternal rivals secured a 1-0 win at Athletic Bilbao.
And there was certainly a chaotic start to the game with Barcelona taking the lead through an own goal that came thanks to some fine pressure from Antoine Griezmann.
However, their joy was short lived as Villarreal struck back just 11 minutes later courtesy of Gerard Moreno.
But when you're playing against a team that contains the greatest player of all time, you can't relax for long and Messi decided to turn on the style after 20 minutes.
Messi and Suarez combine for stunner
Messi collected the ball around the halfway line and decided to breeze through the Villarreal midfield as if they weren't there, before laying the ball off to Suarez.
Lesser strikers would have hesitated in possession, taking two or three touches before either fizzing the ball across the penalty area or whipping a poor shot around the post.

But we're talking about one of the greatest strikers of their generation and boy did it show with Suarez curling a beautiful strike into the far top corner.

When these two are on song, there's no stopping them and boy do Barcelona need them to be.
The brilliant combination play comes just days after a report from Cadena SER suggests what we're watching right now is Messi's penultimate season as a player at Camp Nou.
It's reported that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner has become unhappy with the 'chitter chatter' surrounding his role at the club and that he'll be departing in the summer of 2021.
That, of course, coincides with the end of Messi's current contract and it remains to be seen who the Argentine would sign for if they can't beyond the impasse in negotiations.
The message in the mean time? Enjoy Messi in Catalonia while you can and that should be pretty easy when he's still producing moments like this in key La Liga matches. What a player.
