Franz Beckenbauer - 109 goalsOne of the greatest footballers of all time, Franz Beckenbauer scored an impressive 64 goals in 439 games for Bayern Munich. He also netted an additional 14 goals for West Germany.p1echsskha1ioq115c16cugnnksa9.jpg9. 8. Paul Breitner - 113 goals

Like Beckenbauer, Paul Breitner was famously part of the hugely-successful Bayern Munich and West Germany sides of the 1970s and early-80s.

He netted 103 club goals - including 10 for Real Madrid - plus a further 10 for his country.

7. Steve Bruce - 113 goals

No, your eyes are not deceiving you: Steve Bruce really did score 113 goals during his career.

Despite the fact he was never capped by England, the current Newcastle United boss was prolific for a central defender.

During the 1990-91 season, Bruce scored a remarkable 19 goals in 50 games for Manchester United.

6. Sergio Ramos - 120 goals

In sixth place, we have the aforementioned Ramos, who has scored 38 goals for Real Madrid since the start of the 2016-17 season.

The Spaniard has also netted 11 goals for his country since then.

5. Graham Alexander - 130 goals

Graham Alexander spent most of his career in the Football League, playing for the likes of Scunthorpe and Preston, but he proved he could also score at the highest level when he bagged seven Premier League goals for Burnley during the 2009-10 season.

A set-piece specialist, the Scotland international’s unusual penalty technique - he’d hit the ball with the outside of his boot - helped boost his tally between 1988-2012.

4. Laurent Blanc - 153 goals

Laurent Blanc began his career with Montpelier, where he scored goals for fun.

In 263 games, the centre-back netted an astonishing 80 goals.

He went on to score 18 goals for Saint-Etienne, 17 for Marseille, six for Inter Milan and four for Man Utd at the end of his career. Oh, and he also scored 16 for France.

3. Fernando Hierro - 163 goals

Fernando Hierro’s goalscoring record during the early years of his Real Madrid career is extraordinary.

The Spaniard scored 26 goals in 53 games during the 1991-92 season, followed by 18 goals in 47 matches the following campaign.

In La Liga alone, Hierro bagged 102 goals for Los Blancos. He also hit 29 goals in 89 appearances for his national team.

2. Daniel Passarella - 175 goals

One of the most talented defenders of all time, Daniel Passarella - who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1978 and 1986 - was a goal machine.

He scored goals regularly in both South America (with River Plate) and Europe (with Fiorentina and Inter).

In 70 appearances for his country, Passarella scored an additional 22 goals.

1. Ronald Koeman - 253 goals

But in first place, with a truly astonishing 253 goals to his name, it’s Ronald Koeman.

Many strikers would be pleased to end their careers with that many goals to their name!

Koeman, who could strike a mean free-kick, hit double figures in all six of his seasons at Barcelona.

He also scored a ridiculous 128 goals during his stints with Dutch sides Groningen, Ajax and PSV.

Ramos’s goalscoring record might be brilliant, but Koeman’s is out of this world.
