First and foremost, it looked as though the Argentine was going to become the hero anyway, scoring in the 56th minute to put Sevilla on course for victory at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
And truth be told, that didn't really change with Sevilla indeed going on to maintain their 1-0 lead, but to simply conclude a report of the match with the goal would be a complete injustice.
That's because match-winner Ocampos actually finished the game in goal because the Andalusian side's keeper Tomas Vaclik was forced off with an injury after all their substitutions had been made.
Stand-in goalkeeper saves from goalkeeper
The stoppage-time crock meant that Ocampos had to hold the fort during a nail-biting conclusion with the game not finishing until beyond the 100th minute because of the injury delay.
And during the closing moments, Eibar won a throw-in deep into Sevilla's final third and their very own goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic came forward to try and rescue a last-ditch equaliser.
If a Hollywood screewnriter penned what happened next, it would be rejected for being too unrealistic...
The ball astonishingly fell to the feet Dmitrovic in the six-yard box and he connected with a left-footed shot that could have made him a hero, but stand-in shot-stopper Ocampos saved it!

If that was David de Gea making the save, we'd be talking about it for the next two weeks.
Sure, Ocampos didn't need to fly across his goal mouth like a prime Lev Yashin, but he still showed incredible reflexes for an out-field player.
So, not only did Ocampos score the winner on the night, but he also kept a clean sheet between the sticks and denied his, technically speaking, rival goalkeeper with a brilliant reaction save.
Sometimes it's the crazy moments, not the beautiful ones, that makes football so special. You love to see it.
