30-21 summary
Are we terrible, terrible human beings for thinking Ronaldo isn't a bad shout? I'm sorry, he was a generational talent, but should he be in the GOAT conversation? Not for our money and 'what could have been' without the injuries isn't a good enough reason.
But somebody who should be in the GOAT conversation is Mr. Maradona, so we don't believe for a minute that the World Cup winner should be this high on the list or anywhere near it in general.
Pele, too, is an all-time great, but we're far more understanding of the 'overrated' tag when you consider he always talks about the '1,000 goals' thing as though hundreds weren't scored against amateur sides.
As for Beckham, he should probably count himself lucky that he only finishes in 21st considering he took the gold medal in the 50 most overrated athletes of all time.

20-11 summary
The myth that Benzema is overrated seems to have been going around for years, but there's really no substance to the argument bearing in mind he's scored 52 Real Madrid goals in 96 games since Cristiano Ronaldo left.
Plus, we're not humouring De Bruyne being included for a minute. The best player in the Premier League has the stats and the performances to prove it, so calling him 'overrated' won't be happening on our watch.
And you'd be inclined to think that somebody has a vendetta against the Mexican national team looking at 11th and 12th place. Sure, Dos Santos was overrated, but that was at least a decade ago.
