As we all know, Conor McGregor has 'retired' from UFC after announcing yet again that he was done with the sport.
'Notorious' tweeted out that nothing was exciting him about the sport, and none of the current roster made him want to step back inside the Octagon.
He then did an interview where he essentially repeated himself and said that no one in his division excites him.
After announcing his retirement, he said: "The game just does not excite me, and that's that. All this waiting around. There's nothing happening.
"I'm going through opponent options, and there's nothing really there at the minute. There's nothing that's exciting me.
"They should have just kept the ball rolling. I mean, why are they pushing [Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje] back to September? You know what's going to happen in September, something else is going to happen in September, and that's not going to happen.
"I laid out a plan and a method that was the right move, the right methods to go with. And they always want to balk at that and not make it happen or just drag it on. Whatever I say, they want to go against it to show some kind of power. They should have just done the fight -- me and Justin for the interim title -- and just kept the ball rolling."
Now, we all know what McGregor is like... one day he will announce his retirement and then a few months down the line he will return and send shockwaves through UFC.
He's done it before, and we're about 99% confident he will do it again.
It's well documented that McGregor went through a rather controversial stage following his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov back at UFC 229, but he's since returned to the Octagon and defeated Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone in January.
Following that, however, he announced his retirement from the sport, but there is already murmurs of a return, especially after his latest Instagram post.
The Irishman posted a photo of himself topless and captioned it by saying: "Big poppa pump action."
Of course, that alone doesn't exactly scream retirement u-turn, but the top comment on the post suggests otherwise.
McGregor's long-time friend and coach John Kavanagh dropped a comment on the image, saying: "Skip 170 straight to 185?"
Again, this doesn't mean anything concrete, and it could just be the two playing games with us, but we cannot help get excited about the thought of McGregor back in UFC already.
Yes he's very marmite and A LOT of people don't like and don't even rate McGregor, but you cannot say he doesn't add excitement and interest to the sport.
Like it or not, Conor McGregor is UFC's cash cow, and president Dana White knows that, so he will do anything and everything it takes to get the Irishman back inside the cage.
In terms of there being nothing out there exciting McGregor, we quite frankly don't believe that. There are plenty of options for him if he truly fancied it, so now it's just a waiting game.
We wouldn't be surprised to see him pipe up at UFC 251 this weekend.
