Odsonne Edouard is likely to be one of the big talking points of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been in stunning form since moving to Celtic in the summer of 2017, with the striker proving himself as one of the top young strikers in Europe.

This included scoring 21 goals in 27 appearances this as the Bhoys secured another league title.

As a result this has led to significant interest from clubs on the continent, including Arsenal and Leicester City who are credited with an interest.

But according to The Mirror, Leeds United are now interested in a move.

Marcelo Bielsa's side are firmly on track to secure promotion to the Premier League, and if they can get themselves over the line then the Celtic man will become a target.

Leeds are making the addition of a striker a top priority this summer with Patrick Bamford proving to be inconsistent, and Jean-Kevin Augustin flattering to deceive since arriving in January.

While the Whites are obligated to sign the RB Leipzig striker on a permanent deal this summer it's unlikely that he'll play for Bielsa's side which means that a move for Edouard could gather pace.

Discussing the interest, former Leeds player Paul Robinson said that he would be 'a huge addition'.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Edouard would be a huge, huge signing.
"£17m for Augustin or Odsonne Edouard, there’s no comparison.

“We’re talking about proven strikers. Edouard, Mitrovic, they’re proven strikers. Mitrovic in the Championship, Edouard in the Scottish Premiership. It’s a different level.

“I think you’d take Edouard above Augustin all day long. He’s been sent home for a reason. Edouard would be real signing to excited the fans.

“It shows where the club is and he’d be a massive signing for Leeds if they could pull it off. He’s scored 60 goals in two seasons for Celtic.

“He’s still only 22 as well. If Leeds are in the market for that kind of player… he’d be a huge, huge signing and I’d love to see him at Leeds. He’d fit perfectly into the team.”

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

Few can argue with the interest that Odsonne Edouard is attracting.

The striker's form for Celtic has been outstanding, and in my opinion, he is deserving of an opportunity to stretch himself in a better standard of league.

A move to Arsenal or Leicester City would be huge for him, and more than that I believe that his skillset is perfectly suited to being a success at either of those clubs.

Celtic will be doing all that they can to keep hold of him - and rightly so.

However it seems that any move to give him a new contract will be more of an effort to drive up their asking price, rather than convincing him to stay for another three or four years.
