It could be a memorable season for Leeds United with promotion very much on the cards.
Level on points with 1st place West Brom, Marcelo Bielsa's side are eight points clear of the play-off position with just seven games to go.
The club are doing all that they can to prepare for next season and that includes targeting signings for the summer.
One man who the club had been targeting was Jadan Raymond.
Reports from The Athletic's Phil Hay revealed that the Whites were keen to make a move for the Crystal Palace youngster this summer.
It was suggested that Leeds were in 'advanced talks' over a move to Elland Road.
The 16-year-old looked set to leave Selhurst Park with his contract expiring, however any hopes of a deal have now been scuppered.
That's based on Crystal Palace's announcement that the youngster has penned a new contract.
Raymond is now committed to the Eagles until 2022 and will look to earn a professional contract with the Premier League club.
GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...
This is certainly a blow for Leeds United.
A move for Jadan Raymond would have been a massive boost for the club as they turn their attention towards life in the Premier League.
The 16-year-old is tipped to be one of the next talents to break into the first team fold at Selhurst Park, but with no agreement likely it seemed that the Whites were set for quite a coup.
However after agreeing a new deal, it seems that Leeds will have to look elsewhere.
Of course the Yorkshire side have a number of their own talented youngsters within the set-up, and the silver lining is that now they may have a clearer route if they're to push towards Marcelo Bielsa's first team set-up.News Now - Sport News
