Lazio suffered a shock 2-1 defeat tonight away at relegation-threatened Lecce. The Scudetto chasers were seven points behind Juventus before a ball was kicked and it now seems all but impossible that the Rome-based outfit will catch Maurizio Sarri's side. But the craziest element of the game wasn't the result, far from it.That's because Lazio defender Patric was sent off in stoppage time for BITING Guilio Donati. You can watch the Spaniard's moment of madness below.

You wouldn't think we were in the midst of a global pandemic, would you?

The game itself was a pretty chaotic one, with Lecce's Marco Mancosu kicking off the action by having a goal disallowed in just the second minute of the match.

Three minutes later, Felipe Caicedo struck for Lazio to put the visitors 1-0 up.

But Lecce fired back on the half hour mark through Khouma Babacar, before Mancosu was given the chance to put his team in the lead from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.

However, instead of rifling the ball home, the Italian midfielder produced one of the worst penalties you will see all season, which you can view below.

Imagine running up to the ball so arrogantly only to fire is hopelessly over the bar?

Thankfully for Mancosu, teammate Fabio Lucioni struck two minutes after the restart to put Lecce deservedly 2-1 ahead.

Lazio tried to peg the game back, but they were left frustrated by their hosts and Patric's disgraceful actions at the end capped off a woeful evening for the club.

The onus will now switch onto what punishment the Spanish defender is received for his cowardly bite.

Patric's bite

If there's any justice, the 27-year-old will be banned for the rest of the 2019/20 season.
