We all know Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players to have ever graced football.

The Portuguese legend has won pretty much everything there is to win in the game, conquering England with Manchester United, Spain with Real Madrid and now Italy with Juventus.

He’s also led his country to two major international trophies - although the World Cup has alluded him thus far.

And at the age of 35, the five-time Ballon d’Or shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.

In fact, in 2020 Ronaldo has been in incredible form.

In the last 17 Serie A games, he’s either scored or assisted in each of them. That has resulted in 21 goals and five assists.

Amazing.

Also, his goal during Juventus’ 4-2 loss against AC Milan on Tuesday brought up another quite incredible statistic.

His strike was his 30th goal of the season in all competitions for the Old Lady.

That means he’s now scored 30 goals in 10 of the last 11 campaigns.

That dates back to his debut season for Real Madrid, where he bagged 33 goals. The only campaign that he failed to hit 30 since then was last season, where he ‘only’ managed 28.

Here’s the breakdown:

2009/10 - 33 goals
2010/11 - 53 goals
2011/12 - 60 goals
2012/13 - 55 goals
2013/14 - 51 goals
2014/15 - 61 goals
2015/16 - 51 goals
2016/17 - 42 goals
2017/18 - 44 goals
2018/19 - 28 goals
2019/20 - 30 goals and counting

It really is a quite extraordinary record from a quite extraordinary player.

While this is all about Ronaldo, we know what you’re thinking: ‘What’s Lionel Messi’s record?’

Well before this season, the Barcelona legend had gone 11 consecutive seasons scoring at least 30 goals. However, in the 2019/20 season, he needs a further three goals to reach that tally.

We certainly won’t be betting against it.

But for Ronaldo to be continuing to hit these kind of numbers at the age of 35 is just scary.

With the form that he's in, there's simply no way of ruling him out of winning a sixth Ballon d'Or and equalling Messi's record.

If Juve go on to clinch the Serie A title and overturn their 1-0 deficit against Lyon in the Champions League - before going on to win it - Ronaldo will surely be favourite for the award.

And you couldn't dispute it.
