Undefeated boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather has joined the website Cameo, offering to deliver a birthday message to members of the public for $999.

The 43-year-old enjoyed an illustrious career, defeating legendary opponents such as Oscar De La Hoya, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao on his way to achieving a perfect 50-0 record.

Having last fought in 2017, Mayweather is known for receiving staggering paychecks, earning an estimated $785 million across the course of his career. Now, he seems to have turned to a new way of making money.

Mayweather's profile states that the American boxer is "one of the most iconic athletes of all time," whilst Mayweather introduced himself on the site as "the most expensive celebrity on Cameo."

That claim appears disputable, though, with Caitlyn Jenner listed as charging twice as much as him.

His latest unusual venture will do little to quash the rumours that Mayweather is struggling financially. Despite the former champion reportedly flashing the cash in strip clubs and restaurants, there are suggestions that Mayweather has actually spent a lot of his career earnings already.

Rapper and former friend 50 Cent believes that Mayweather is broke, and controversial UFC veteran Chael Sonnen argues that the five-weight boxing titlist only came out of retirement to face Conor McGregor three years ago due to his money troubles.

Commenting on Mayweather's alleged tendency to spend his money at an alarming rate, Sonnen said: “It does not matter what you made, it matters what you kept, and he is a dumb-dumb.”

Mayweather denies that he is broke, and has received some comforting news with regards to his opening birthday message for an adoring fan.

His performance was given a five-star review by an apparently delighted customer.

It seems that it is not just in the ring that Mayweather is able to deliver. Who knew?!
