Vince McMahon is the most powerful man in wrestling.
Therefore, WWE Superstars would do well to stay in his good books. Don't cross the boss, they famously say.
While some have been unfancied by the chairman and CEO over the years, there are others he has formed strong bonds with.
These days, wrestlers are doing more out of character interviews than ever before, pulling back the curtain on the industry.
Most of them have stories to share about McMahon, too.
So here are five WWE stars who have nothing but good things to say, calling him a friend, rather than a boss.
5) Braun Strowman
Vince had faith in Strowman from the very beginning, calling him up to WWE's main roster in 2015 after just seven untelevised matches on NXT and Main Event.
His backing proved correct, considering what The Monster has gone on to achieve. He's currently Universal Champion, of course.
On his relationship with McMahon, Braun has said: "Vince doesn’t get the credit that is due to him.
"He’s an unbelievable man and I’m fortunate to not only work for him but to also call him my friend."
4) The Undertaker
This one will come as no shock if you've watched any of WWE's Last Ride documentary. Vince and Mark Calaway go back decades and have been through thick and thin together.
They remain very close to this day and when McMahon was recently asked what The Undertaker means to him, he cut the interview short, becoming emotional.
Mark has also explained: "I love Vince to death. I would take a bullet for the man. Honestly, I would. Yes, he is my boss, my friend, he has been like a dad, he has been like a brother."
3) The Rock
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is easily WWE's most successful ever star and he owes a lot of that to McMahon - therefore, it's no surprise to know the pair are close.
Rock has described Vince as a 'very close friend and confidant' and has even said it's very hard to refuse offers from his former boss.
"You never say never to Vince McMahon, who has been one of my mentors in the business for a very long time. [He’s] a very, very close friend and confidant. You never say no."
That sounds familiar, doesn't it Undertaker?
2) Hulk Hogan
In 2015, WWE fired Hogan and removed him from the Hall of Fame after audio of him using racist language in 2007 emerged.
That's a decision Vince quickly reversed, as the former Superstar has been involved sporadically with WWE over the following years.
In 2018, Hogan's daughter revealed that her father will always have a strong relationship with McMahon, regardless of what happened in the past.
"I know that dad will always have a relationship with Vince no matter what has happened publicly. They have had a friendship and business relationship for so long - I think that time heals all."
1) John Cena
Like The Rock, Cena has found great success outside of WWE. But he's never forgotten where he came from.
The 16-time world champ was Vince's top guy for over a decade and the boss called him 'the standard-bearer, the benchmark and the epitome of what it means to be a Superstar in WWE and in life'.
Cena has been just as complimentary back to McMahon, too.
"He is so much more than [a boss] to me. He is a friend, a father figure, a mentor, a trusting resource," John said on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year.
"He’s filled with wisdom, but above all else, yes, I still think of him as my boss. I always like for them to give me ideas and then me to kind of make it my own."
Of course, Vince McMahon doesn't get along with every single wrestler he employs. But there are some who he's been very close to over the years.
From Cena to Strowman, or The Rock to The Undertaker, there are plenty of Superstars that see Vince as more of a family member, rather than a boss.
