Rangers have been incredibly busy this summer with Steven Gerrard luring a number of new faces to Ibrox.

Firstly, the Gers boss brought Ianis Hagi to the club on a permanent basis before goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin arrived on a free transfer from Sunderland.

It remains to be seen how many deals the club wrap up before the new season commences but there have been plenty of rumours doing the rounds.

In terms of strikers, the Light Blues have been targeting the likes of Lyndon Dykes, Rhian Brewster and Ivan Toney.

The first two names haven't been too prominent but Toney certainly has.

Gerrard could secure his services for a price of £10m this summer but Celtic are also in the hunt.

No formal offer has been tabled for the Peterborough forward but Rangers have submitted a bid for another striker.

According to The Herald, the Glasgwegians have submitted an offer to bring Florian Kamberi back to Ibrox.

The Albanian was on loan at Rangers for the second half of the current season and it's now thought he could return.

Supposedly, the Gers have proposed a loan-swap to Hibernian with Greg Docherty heading in the opposite direction.

That would signal the exact same deal that Rangers and Hibs agreed in January when the duo first swapped sides.

Worryingly, though, it appears Kamberi wants a permanent move - not another temporary stay.

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

It's interesting that Rangers have taken the same approach they did in January but who can blame Gerrard for trying his luck on the powerful 6 foot 2 forward once again.

He scored nine goals in 2019/20, laying on six strikes for his teammates. It may not be the levels Alfredo Morelos hits but he's a brilliant plan B.

After signing for the club, the Gers boss claimed Kamberi was "the ultimate professional".

On top of that, he revealed how willing the 25-year-old was to learn about the club's tactics.

Bearing that in mind, there couldn't be a more ideal striker for Rangers to sign this summer.

He knows Gerrard, he knows the club and he's familiar with their tactics. Furthermore, he's a versatile figure on the field of play.

Though, whether they're willing to stomach a fee to sign him remains to be seen. That's something they'll have to do if Kamberi is intent on arriving permanently.
