Police in Texas believe there are three victims following Mike Perry’s restaurant attack, according to TMZ, who have received the official report from the incident.

UFC welterweight star Perry, aged 28, was filmed shouting at people in the restaurant before he punched an elderly man. The man was knocked unconscious in the process with his head smashing against the concrete, according to eyewitnesses.

According to TMZ, Perry was questioned on the scene in Lubbock, Texas, but wasn’t arrested.

He will be required to go to court and face a Class A assault charge, however, for which there is a possible $500 fine.

After the incident, he faced calls to apologise on social media. However, Perry declined to do so and simply tweeted a response saying: "No comment."

The fighter told officials that he was simply trying to leave the restaurant peacefully, but people were ‘putting hands on me as I was trying to leave the building.'

He admits to getting into a physical altercation with other people at the restaurant, but says it was self-defence. The footage also shows the fighter repeatedly shouting racial slurs at his accusers.

A witness claims the brawl began when Perry punched an employee who had asked him to leave. The fighter then reportedly struck a woman, who is believed to be a friend of his girlfriend. It is not yet known if these two victims were taken to hospital.

Perry was then filmed being escorted out of the diner by his girlfriend, before getting physical with others.

The man was left unconscious from Perry’s punch and had to be taken to hospital. He has been questioned by police, but is currently struggling to remember details of the incident.

Perry is a professional MMA fighter who fights under the nickname ‘Platinum’. He currently holds a record of 14-6 (11 KOs) and last fought in a win against Mickey Gall.

This incident is not the first time that Perry has been involved in controversy.

He has been called out in the past for repeatedly using racial and homophobic slurs, both on social media and in person. Perry has also failed to delete some of the tweets in question on his timeline.

The UFC, and its president Dana White, are yet to respond to the issue as of writing this article.
