He is exceptional, a player who completes over 90% of his passes while performing a massive three dribbles per match.
Those are two statistics that make it incredibly hard for anyone to get near him, twisting and turning past his marker before picking out a teammate.
It's no surprise to see him earn comparisons to a certain Paul Scholes, a Premier League great who always made life difficult for the opposition.
Writing in a piece about Thiago and his 'romance' with Pep Guardiola at Bayern, Barney Ronay said:
