Everton are looking to the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side did not make a signing in the January transfer window.

That means that they will likely be looking to restructure the Italian’s squad in the summer window.

However, things at the turn of the year could well have gone differently.

That’s if a new report from Corriere del Mezzogiorno, carried by Sport Witness, is to be believed.

Indeed, they report that the club tried to do a deal for a Serie A star, though they were unable to push anything through.

Nevertheless, they could return to the well this summer, as they look to bring in new acquisitions.

They are said to have made an enquiry for Hirving Lozano a few months ago, and that interest has continued.

Lozano has scored five goals and registered two assists in 33 games thus far this season and Everton boss Ancelotti is interested in snapping up his signature.

The Mexico international arrived at Napoli while Ancelotti was at the club, playing 17 times under his management and scoring three goals.

And the report states that a bid from the Toffees could be forthcoming in the next few months as Ancelotti is keen to recruit a right winger.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Lozano would be a really intriguing signing for Everton.

He is a mazy dribbler, a tricky presence down the flank and has a great deal of pace, too.

He may only be 24 but Lozano has plenty of experience and has won 39 caps for Mexico, having played 79 times for PSV Eindhoven and a further 28 for Napoli. He also made 141 appearances for Pachuca, scoring 41 times.

He would add a dynamism to the Toffees’ front line that is currently lacking but it remains to be seen if Everton will be able to match his asking price.

Transfermarkt, indeed, value him at £25.2 million, and he has a contract until 2024.
