The Bhoys were told that a price of £10m would have to be spent in order to prise him away from Aberdeen, a total that would eclipse the record fee Celtic paid of £9m for Edouard.
The likes of Aston Villa and QPR have been interested in the defender before but it remains to be seen whether they hold the player in any regard still.
McKenna is a player on the up, being capped 13 times by his country while his immense height of 6 foot 2 means he's a dominant aerial presence.
At just 24, as well, Nick Hammond can't go too wrong by renewing Celtic's interest in the player.
Whether they can finally lure McKenna to Glasgow after two years of pursuing him remains to be seen. Either way, Aberdeen can probably expect another bid this summer.
