The Premier League has been back on our television screens for over 20 days now.

Football fans around the country and world celebrate when England's top flight returned on June 17 with Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal marking the comeback.

We're now five game-weeks into the 'second half' of the 2019/20 season and it's time to treasure each and every match left to play with the league campaign fast coming to a close.

The Premier League's return

All 20 clubs only have four fixtures left to fulfil until their positions, whether in the relegation zone, Champions League places or elsewhere, are penned into the history books with permanent ink.

It goes without saying, however, that an asterisks will always be written alongside this season and that's because, well, the football since the restart has almost felt like a season of its own.

We've seen players who were struggling in March experience an upturn since comeback, as well as vice verse, while some stars have benefitted from having long-term injuries coincide with lockdown.

Top post-lockdown performers

So, if we're to take this bubble-like epoch of the 2019/20 campaign in isolation: who would be the best players in the division?

It's a question we've already answered for world football in general and now, courtesy of Sky Sports' 'Power Rankings', we're able to see who the top dogs have been in England specifically.

With only games since the June 17 return considered, it's a tough read for Liverpool fans and absolute eye-candy for Manchester United supporters - check out the top 20 players below:

20. Emiliano Martinez (Arsenal) - 5,253

Gooners were left bemoaning their luck when Bernd Leno looked to have suffered a major knee injury during the defeat at Brighton, but boy has Martinez done a brilliant job since taking over.

Martinez has made a series of impressive saves on his way to keeping clean sheets during the wins over Southampton, Wolves and Norwich. One of the league's best back-up 'keepers, no doubt.

19. Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea) - 5,497

Mr. Consistent has been omnipresent for the Blues amidst their positive return to Premier League action.

However, it's his Man of the Match performance away to Aston Villa that's probably responsible for this ranking, accumulating two assists from full-back during the win in Birmingham.

18. Ederson (Manchester City) - 5,513

To be honest, we're not sure Ederson has done too much to catch our eyes individually since the restart, but failing to concede a single goal at the Etihad Stadium must have bolstered his stats.

Second only to Alisson Becker in our eyes, though his compatriot is nowhere to be seen here.

17. Lucas Digne (Everton) - 6,175

We have one question for you and one question only: did you see Digne's assist for Richarlison against Southampton last night?

If you have, then you'll understand why he makes the top 20 because it was a moment of pure genius. The ex-Barcelona man also notched an assist at Norwich and kept a clean sheet over champions Liverpool.

16. Michail Antonio (West Ham United) - 6,332

Antonio has been a shining light for West Ham in a season that looked for a long time to be destined for relegation, but their promising post-lockdown form has put them back on the right track.

Antonio has been crucial to that upturn with a goal and assist during the dramatic 3-2 win over Chelsea, before popping up with another strike away to Newcastle four days later.

15. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) - 6,349

Where on earth would Arsenal be without Aubameyang's goals this season?

The Thierry Henry-like forward is in the hunt for a second consecutive Premier League Golden Boot and post-lockdown strikes against Norwich and Leicester means he's in with a shot.

14. Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) - 6,404

However, it's Vardy whose leading the race at the moment, returning to goal-scoring form having entered the break on the back of a drought by the Englishman's lofty standards.

Scoring twice in a Man of the Match display against Crystal Palace moved him past 100 Premier League goals and a strike at the Emirates Stadium consolidated his status as league top scorer.

13. Tomas Soucek (West Ham United) - 6,424

Soucek has been a lively threat for the Hammers in recent weeks, looking like a completely different player to the man who was struggling for game-time after leaving Slavia Prague in the winter.

But goals against Chelsea and Newcastle, as well as being unlucky not to score against Burnley, means Soucek is one of the Hammers' finest weapons as they look to avoid relegation.

12. Christian Pulisic (Chelsea) - 6,538

You'd forgive Pulisic for taking his time to adapt to the Premier League seeing as he's only 21 years old, but the American has hit the ground running in west London and particularly this summer.

Pulisic helped gift Liverpool the title with a goal against Manchester City as well as finding the net during away wins at Villa and Palace.

11. Nick Pope (Burnley) - 6,586

Considering the Premier League Golden Boot has only really been won by legends like Petr Cech, Alisson Becker and David de Gea, it's crazy to think Pope is leading the way this season.

Gareth Southgate will now have no choice but to select Pope as England's number one after a stellar campaign that has already seen him hoover up 14 clean sheets.
