Chelsea’s signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga hasn’t really worked out.
He was snaffled away from Athletic Bilbao for the staggering fee of £71.6 million.
Of course, because of the transfer policy at the Spanish club, they insist that any club wishing to buy one of their players pay their release clause in full.
Since then, though, Kepa has struggled to assert his authority in the Premier League.
He has made 38 appearances this season in all competitions but he has kept just nine clean sheets, and had to wait seven games in the Premier League before recording his first clean sheet of the season.
Prior to that, he had shipped 13 goals in six games.
It is little surprise, then, that the Blues are eyeing up potential reinforcements in goal as they look to strengthen Frank Lampard’s squad.
And one possible acquisition who has emerged is Manchester United’s Dean Henderson.
Henderson has enjoyed a superb season on loan at Sheffield United but he has yet to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils.
Chelsea would need to sell Kepa in order to offer the Englishman the chance of becoming their No.1 but they are willing to do so.
Henderson, of course, has David de Gea in his way at Old Trafford, so he must make a decision over his future as the window looms.

This is an intriguing development.
If Chelsea are willing to give him regular first-team football, then one has to think that Henderson could well see his future at Stamford Bridge.
De Gea is not likely to be dislodged any time soon and there doesn’t seem to be a willingness at United to move him on.
Thus, the current Blades stopper should be looking for a club where he can play every week.
If that is Chelsea, then so be it, but United are unlikely to let him go cheaply.
