Chelsea are making remarkably aggressive moves in the summer transfer market.
They have already secured the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, following a season in which the Morocco international has thrived for the Dutch club.
This season, indeed, he has scored eight goals and provided 21 assists in all competitions, playing in attacking midfield and on the right wing.
Chelsea have also done a deal to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, gazumping Liverpool and snaffling away one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga.
Werner has scored 34 goals in 45 appearances for the club, while also registering 13 assists.
And it appears that further moves are likely.
Various reports have claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and the reason for that swoop has become clear.
He is valued at £72.9 million by Transfermarkt.
90min reports that the club have intensified their pursuit of the Germany international because they have concerns over the way Callum Hudson-Odoi is developing.
The England international has battled an Achilles injury and has made just seven starts in the Premier League this season.
Chelsea are said to be concerned about his lack of growth and, as a result, manager Frank Lampard is looking to bolster his attacking ranks in spite of his presence.
Havertz, it is said, would be willing to move to west London but there is also interest from Bayern Munich in his signature.

Hudson-Odoi was seen as something of a jewel in Chelsea’s squad, because of his fleet-footed dribbling ability and goalscoring prowess.
In total, he has scored eight goals and registered 10 assists for the club in 54 games.
But it is fair to say that he hasn’t grown into the genuinely brilliant wide player that he could have been at Stamford Bridge.
He certainly deserves another chance – nobody is suggesting that he will be sold this summer – but replacing him before moving him on is a logical, natural move.
