David Beckham's son, Brooklyn, has announced that he is engaged to Nicola Peltz.

The 21-year-old revealed the news on his Instagram account, sharing a photograph of the pair captioned:

"Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes xx I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day. I love you baby xx."

Photographer Brooklyn has been dating 25-year-old Nicola for seven months and news of his proposal had apparently leaked, meaning he had to confirm the news publically.

"Brooklyn has been telling his friends in LA that he and Nicola are engaged. It's common knowledge among their group of friends. They are smitten," a source said, per the Mirror.

"David and Victoria have very much given this relationship their blessing.

"It's a very exciting time for the whole family and after a few previous rocky relationships, they think Brooklyn has landed on his feet."

Brooklyn and Nicola announced their relationship back in January by posting a black-and-white picture of themselves on social media.

Both youngsters have very famous parents, with David and Victoria Beckham being household names in both the UK and the United States.

Nicola's father, Nelson Peltz, is one of the wealthiest men in the world with a £1.3 billion fortune, dwarfing the worth of the Beckham's, which is said to be around £350 million.
