Tottenham Hotspur’s summer business has yet to properly take shape.
Jose Mourinho’s side are yet to discover whether or not they will be playing European football next season, after all, with their form being notably patchy in recent weeks.
Indeed, recent results have seen Spurs lose to Sheffield United, beat Everton, but then draw with AFC Bournemouth in perhaps the most dispiriting way possible.
In the latter game, they did not register a single shot on target.
The results have left the club languishing in ninth place in the Premier League ahead of Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal, who are one point and one place ahead of them.
Spurs are two points behind Sheffield United, too, and are nine off fifth-placed Manchester United.
It makes European football all the more difficult for Spurs to obtain and ensures that the north London outfit have a tough task to actually start formalising their plans for the summer.
However, it appears that one deal could be in the offing, per a report from Turkish journalist Mehmet Demirkol.
Speaking to beIN Manset, via Sport Witness, he has claimed that Schalke defender Ozan Kabak could be on his way to north London.
Talking about the player’s development – from Galatasaray to Stuttgart and then to Schalke – Demirkol dropped in that he could be on his way to Spurs.
He said: “Besiktas youngsters could make some mistakes. That’s normal. They will grow up and become better players. Just look at Ozan Kabak.
"He was consistently giving away penalties when he was at Galatasaray. But now, he has developed into a great centre back. And I heard that he’s on his way to Tottenham this season.”

Spurs do need a new defender.
It appears that Jan Vertonghen is going to be leaving the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of the season.
Just to that end, Spurs will have to bring in a replacement.
Young blood, then, is needed and Kabak is only 20.
He has made 21 starts in the Bundesliga and, per WhoScored, he has averaged 1.4 tackles per game, 1.4 interceptions, just 0.8 fouls, 3.6 clearances, and a passing accuracy of 81.5%, including 3.3 long balls.
He appears a superb prospect who can only grow and improve and also learn under the tutelage of Toby Alderweireld, another veteran who appears to be approaching the twilight of his career.
Per Transfermarkt, he is valued at £26.1 million and it would be an investment in the future.
