Rangers FC have big plans for the coming season.

Celtic have dominated Scottish football in recent years but the hope at Ibrox is that this is about to change.

Neil Lennon's side have hopes of making it 10-straight league titles - something that Steven Gerrard's side are determined to stop.

If they're to do that, Rangers will need to strengthen in the transfer market - something that they're already showing signs of doing.

According to reports, it seems that one move could be moving closer.

It's claimed that Rangers are closing in a move for Dennis Gyamfi.

Quoted by Leicester Live, reports are claiming that the Scottish side are plotting to swoop for the Leicester City youngster.

The 18-year-old is said to have rejected a new offer at the King Power Stadium which means that he is available to move on a free transfer this summer.

The Dutch youngster was highly rated by Brendan Rodgers and his team, with coaches said to be 'stunned' by his decision to turn down a deal.

That has paved the way for him to make the move to Glasgow.

Gyamfi wouldn't be the first Leicester prospect to head to Rangers of late following the decision of Calvin Bassey to make the move.

The 20-year-old completed a move last month after rejected a new deal, and it seems that he could be paving the way for Gyamfi to follow in his footsteps as they look to make their breakthrough under Steven Gerrard in Scotland.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This would be quite a coup for Rangers.

The Dutch youngster is very highly rated at Leicester City and that means that it's a huge blow for them to be losing him in the first place.

However it'll be quite a move for Steven Gerrard's side.

Rangers are looking to build a side for the future, and with players like Gyamfi they're bound to be well placed as they look towards the years ahead.

While a deal is far from done, it shows that Rangers are firmly on the right track.
