Tottenham have beaten Arsenal 2-1 in the final north London derby of the season.Jose Mourinho's side are now two points clear of the Gunners in the table thanks to goals from Heung-min Son and Toby Alderweireld.Alexandre Lacazette had given Arsenal the lead midway through the first-half, but Son was on hand to equalise two minutes after following a woeful back pass from Sead Kolasinac. The Gunners were made to pay late in the second period when the Korean's corner was expertly nodded home by Alderweireld. It's the same old story for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's side were the superior outfit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but individual defensive errors cost them once again.Shkodran Mustafi delivered possibly his worst performance in the famous red shirt since Arteta took over and his attempt a slide tackle after Spurs had taken the lead was just hilarious.

What on earth was going through his head?! Emi Martinez was on hand to bail out his teammate by saving Harry Kane's resulting shot.

Mustafi has been guilty of going to the ground too easily throughout his career in English football, but it appeared he had started to ditch the habit in recent weeks - until today.

There's no question that Arteta has made Arsenal a far more stable defensive unit, but even a skilled tactician like the Spaniard cannot compensate for individual errors.

Mustafi and Kane in action

If the Gunners are to progress to the next level in 2020/21 and possibly challenge for the Champions League places, the likes of Mustafi, Kolasinac and David Luiz have to be replaced.

William Saliba's arrival cannot come soon enough, while Calum Chambers' return from injury next season should further galvanise Arsenal's back-line.

Today's defensive performance also begs the question; what has Rob Holding got to do to get a start?
