Chelsea's hopes of securing Champions League football took a serious hit yesterday evening.

Frank Lampard's side were comfortably beaten 3-0 away at Sheffield United, with strikes from David McGoldrick (x2) and Ollie McBurnie securing the three points for the Blades.

It means Chelsea can be leapfrogged by both Leicester City and Manchester United if both teams secure wins in their upcoming fixtures.

The Blues then face Norwich City at home on Tuesday, before a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool next weekend.

Two games which will likely define Lampard's first season in charge and you can guarantee there is one player who will not be starting either; Jorginho.

Jorginho in action

The Italian midfielder has flown down the pecking order since the Premier League's restart, but was handed a rare start against Sheffield United due to the club's lengthy injury list.

Did the former Napoli man take advantage of the opportunity? Absolutely not. Instead, Jorginho turned in one of the most hapless performances of the season, regularly giving the ball away and just look generally disinterested.

One football fan has compiled Jorginho's disasterclass into a handy two-minute video, which you can view below.

There's no chance the 28-year-old will be a Chelsea player next season.

Amazingly, the Italian survived the full 90 minutes, with fellow midfielders Mason Mount and Ross Barkley both substituted instead.

The issue with Jorginho is one that will need to be resolved in the transfer market by Lampard and his team.

Jorginho & Antonio Rudiger

It's evident for all to see that the Italian is simply not suited to the manager's playing style and the intensity of English football.

But they need to bring in a replacement, otherwise the reliance of N'Golo Kante - who is starting to become worryingly injury-prone - will be far too great.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for West Ham's Declan Rice and the versatile Englishman would surely be far more suitable option for Chelsea's engine room.
