What a summer this is shaping up to be for Chelsea. After facing a 12-month transfer ban the Blues are hoping to make up for lost time by doing some serious business in the summer transfer window.Deals have already been completed to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, however they're far from done.
A number of stars have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the coming months, but none will get supporters as excited as one in particular. That man, of course, is Kai Havertz.Speculation has been building over the future of the 20-year-old who is said to be attracting the interest of clubs such as Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.p1ed1tji1dm5e2981pna656hbb9.jpgBut with Chelsea regarded as favourites to sign him, they've been handed a big boost following the end of the German season.According to Nicolo Schira, the Blues are preparing their first offer for the midfielder. He claims that Frank Lampard could look to offload Emerson Palmieri, and Jorginho to fund the deal, with the latter possibly heading to Juventus.

Bild have claimed that Havertz has already expressed his desire to leave Bayer Leverkusen after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

That has opened the door on a move to Chelsea, but only on the condition that Frank Lampard's side can secure their spot in Europe's premier competition.

Should that happen, then the German youngster could well be the latest addition to the flurry of transfer activity that's going on in West London.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

The transfer window isn't even open and we're already gripped by what is going on.

Chelsea have been quickest out of the blocks with two huge signings all-but wrapped up, and it seems that they aren't finished yet.

In fact, they're only just getting started.

If they can tie up a deal for Kai Havertz that would one heck of a coup - especially if they are beating some of Europe's biggest clubs to the punch.
