The newest game in popular series ‘Assassin’s Creed’ has been announced, but this time it is focused on a key event in history - the Viking invasion of England.
The game will be available on next-gen consoles and will be available for purchase on November 17.
The game is played through the eyes of the protagonist Eivor, who leads her troops through the North Sea to the British Isles.
As Eivor, you will most likely raid locations you spot from the shoreline, but this isn’t met with any resistance as you will have to fight for what you want to take.
The team you select will assist Eivor in battle and once it is over, the stealing of goods and cargo.
The resources and goods you collect from ripping through the heart of villages and towns are vital for your settlement.
Your settlement is a place where Eivor and her soldiers can rest and plan future missions.
The bigger and better your settlement, the more new settlers and access to better resources it will attract.
At the heart of your settlement is the alliance map.
The alliance map is where you can see where you have raided and attacked in the past, as well as plan where you choose to attack in the future.
The alliance map will also keep a record of the allies you have made.
In all new Valhalla, it isn’t all going to be easy, however, as there are the most enemies an Assassin’s Creed game has ever seen.
More enemies mean more chance for battle, adding to the tension and excitement the game provides the player.
Some enemies have special weapons that they carry, however, some just use what they have near them like rocks, or even dead bodies.
To face the attacks, it is said that you must find and exploit the enemies' weaknesses, therefore gaining you the upper hand.
With all these various attacks, there must be effective ways to beat your opponent, which is why there are all new combat methods in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Some of the effective ways to defeat your opponent are: Viking harpoon, throwing axes, incapacitating them with the new stun system or dual-wheeling any two weapons for a deadly combo attack.
If you wish, you can even carry two shields as your weapons.
Not all situations require straight up violence and mayhem, some of them require a little bit of stealth.
As Eivor is not wanted in England, you may often have to outsmart your enemies by avoiding unwanted attention in towns and cities.
You can use Eivor’s hood and cloak to slip through crowds and watchful eyes.
As well as being stealthy, exploration is also a vital part of the game as it allows you to stay sharp.
You will regularly have to hunt and forage to replenish your health and fortify your equipment.
As Eivor, you can also search Roman ruins for new challenges to strengthen yourself and your settlement.
It is as simple as; the more you explore, the more of England you will reveal.
Despite this, you can’t expect to run rings around England without them fighting back, therefore, as you do push further into England, they will attempt to push you back.
There will occasionally be assaults of colossal size and importance, and it will be you leading Eivor’s army into battle against the heavily defended Saxon fortresses.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will give you the chance to live your own Viking saga.
Although the game seems like it could really take off with the base seeming strong, there has been some opposed to the idea of Valhalla with the official trailer on YouTube currently sitting on an unhealthy 1,400 dislikes.
