In Tuesday's Football Daily...

Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0 thanks to a brace from Andy Carroll, who opened his Reds' account with a stunning left-footed volley.

City boss Roberto Mancini took the blame for his side's humbling loss, claiming he had to learn from the mistakes made on the night.

Potentially more costly for City, however, was the loss of captain Carlos Tevez to a hamstring injury. The Argentine is now set to sit out Saturday's FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United at Wembley.

Ahead of tonight's crucial Champions League quarter-final second leg against Chelsea, Rio Ferdinand insists United are concentrating on each game as it comes - and not winning an historic Treble.


Chelsea will have to overturn a 1-0 deficit at Old Trafford this evening, and Frank Lampard is hopeful the Blues can seal the top European prize for owner Roman Abramovich.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are hopeful Aaron Lennon will will start tomorrow against Real Madrid in the second leg of their last eight tie.

In the Barclays Premier League, Jack Wilshere says Arsenal have the edge over United in the title race - with the teenager believing the Gunners can take advantage of their rivals' hectic schedule.
