Willian faces an intriguing summer.

The Chelsea star has a contract that expires at the end of the season and he has yet to commit to fresh terms at Stamford Bridge.

It appears that he could well be on his way out of the club, given the signings of Hakim Ziyech and, potentially, Kai Havertz, with reports stating that the Germany international is a target in the coming transfer window.

There have been a number of reports that Tottenham Hotspur have an interest in signing the Brazil international in this transfer window.

Football Insider have previously reported that they have already made the winger an offer ahead of the window, including a large signing-on fee.

However, Inter Miami are said to have tabled an offer for the 31-year-old, with David Beckham keen to recruit a marquee name for his fledgling MLS franchise.

Willian, though, has rejected the move, per The Daily Telegraph, as he would like to stay in England and potentially play in the Champions League.

Miami had offered him a long-term contract, worth over £100,000-per-week, but they will have to focus their transfer attention elsewhere after his rejection.

This is a boost to Spurs.

Willian may want to play Champions League football but one has to think that the pull of a reunion with his former Blues boss, Jose Mourinho, will play in the north London club’s favour.

They need to tread carefully as they attempt to convince the Brazilian to move across London – they do have an ageing squad and stocking it with wingers is a recipe for disaster – but it could be a canny move if they can make it happen.

Willian has, after all, been in electric form for the Blues since the restart.

He has scored four goals in his last five games and also registered two assists under Frank Lampard’s management.
