Rangers FC have big plans for the coming season.

Celtic have dominated Scottish football in recent years but the hope at Ibrox is that this is about to change.

Neil Lennon's side have hopes of making it 10-straight league titles - something that Steven Gerrard's side are determined to stop.

If they're to do that, Rangers will need to strengthen in the transfer market - something that they're already showing signs of doing.

According to reports, it seems that one move could be moving closer.

Football Insider are reporting that Rangers are keen on a move for Christian Maghoma.

The 22-year-old is a free agent after leaving Polish club Arka Gdynia at the end of last season.

He reportedly made a big impression in Poland where he made 39 appearance for the first team.

Maghoma started his career with Tottenham Hotspur where he came through the youth academy and was highly rated.

But despite being tipped for a bright future, the central defender made the decision to move on in the summer of 2018 as he sought first team opportunities.

With Rangers keen to strengthen their defensive line, it's thought that Steven Gerrard has identified the former Spurs man as a potential option for his back line.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This would be quite a coup for Rangers.

The youngster is very highly rated and after leaving Poland it seems that he's holding out for a move to a top club.

If the Scottish side can complete a deal, it would be a cracking piece of business by Steven Gerrard.

Rangers are looking to build a side for the future, and with players like Maghoma they're bound to be well placed as they look towards the years ahead.

While a deal is far from done, it shows that Rangers are firmly on the right track.
