It could be a memorable season for Leeds United with promotion very much on the cards.

Top of the Championship, Marcelo Bielsa's side are six points clear of the play-off position with just three games to go.

The club are doing all that they can to prepare for next season and that includes targeting signings for the summer.

But while some at the club are looking to next term, most are focused purely on getting themselves over the line.

While promotion is all-but confirmed for Leeds United, the Whites still need to pick up four points from their last four games to finish the job.

But unfortunately for Marcelo Bielsa, one of his key players will not be featuring in the run-in.

That man is Adam Forshaw.

The midfielder has missed most of the campaign with a hip injury, and while he's only a matter of weeks away from a long-awaited return to full training, Forshaw will not feature again for Bielsa's side this term.

Asked by LUTV how his recovery has gone, quoted by Leeds Live, Forshaw said: "Brilliant, really well (the rehab).

"I'm probably two, three weeks away from being in full training with the team.

"Unfortunately I'm going to miss the end of the season but in the grand scheme of things, I'll be ready to go with the team for the first day of pre-season if everything goes well."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

While it's a blow to lose Adam Forshaw for the rest of this season, I'm sure Marcelo Bielsa will be looking at the bigger picture.

When fit, the midfielder is a key player for the Argentine and he's certainly been a big miss for Leeds United this term.

If he can get a decent pre-season under his belt then he could be a big player next term.

With the club on the cusp of the Premier League, it will be tough for Forshaw to work his way back into Bielsa's plans, but if he can prove his fitness then he'll certainly get an opportunity.
