Rangers FC and Steven Gerrard desperately need to improve the quality of players at Ibrox this summer.
The former Liverpool midfielder was brought to the club by Dave King in order to bridge the gap between the Gers and Celtic.
However, he hasn't been able to do that so far.
In fact, the Light Blues were beginning to look a little sorry for themselves towards the back end of the Scottish Premiership season.
They eventually fell 13 points behind their fiercest rivals as they were powerless to prevent Neil Lennon's side from winning nine titles in a row.
That is a record that Gerrard and his men will simply have to put to bed next campaign but it'll be easier said than done.
Alfredo Morelos has scored just once in 2020 and has also been linked with the exit door. Even if he stays, he'll have to start finding the back of the net again.
Perhaps the addition of a further forward would be beneficial.
It's already been claimed that Rangers have submitted a bid to loan Florian Kamberi. However, he would prefer a permanent move.
Thus, an alternative has been lined up.
According to The Daily Record, the Gers have made a tentative approach to sign former Charlton striker Lyle Taylor.
The 30-year-old is out of contract and as a result, is available to Rangers on a free transfer.
However, their pursuit of the forward will not be easy.
That's because there are a plethora of teams in the market for the impressive attacker. The report states that Nottingham Forest, Swansea and West Brom all want to sign him. Also interested are Burnley and Galatasaray.

It would not be a great surprise if Taylor ended up in Scotland and at one of the most high profile clubs north of the border.
After all, his former manager Lee Bowyer said the following earlier this year: "He is going to get a life-changing move.
"If it wasn't for Lyle, we wouldn't even be in this division. He was outstanding last season, he had a great start this season."
Those are interesting words and his 11 goals last term certainly present Taylor in a good light.
He is clinical in front of goal and a leader too, captaining the Addicks on multiple occasions.
Though, Gerrard will need to be careful about his injury record, an area that is a large cause for concern should anyone sign him this summer.
In 2019/20, Taylor missed five games at the start of the calendar year with a thigh injury but was absent from September for a number of months with a knee injury sustained on international duty.
If Rangers secure his signature, they will have to monitor his fitness correctly.
