The Englishman has kept 13 clean sheets in his 33 Premier League games with the Blades, conceding just 27 goals in the process.In contrast, De Gea has managed only 11 clean sheets in 35 games, conceding 35 goals in that time.So it's perhaps no wonder that United are now reportedly looking to bring Henderson back to the club and offer him a starting role at De Gea's expense.Journalist Duncan Castles tweeted today: "Manchester United want Dean Henderson back at Old Trafford - and are ready to select the England under-21 goalkeeper ahead of David De Gea."
It would be a bold, yet practical move from the club and it would surely spell the end for De Gea at Old Trafford.
After all, why would United want to keep a second-choice 'keeper with a salary of £395,000-per-week on their books? Especially given that they have the dependable Sergio Romero within their ranks.
It's a scenario which I can certainly see playing out. Regardless of his dip in form in recent years, De Gea would still have numerous high-profile suitors in the transfer market.
They'd likely cough up a decent fee as well to aid United in pursuing their summer transfer targets. Jadon Sancho anyone?
