Rangers FC have big plans for the coming season.

Celtic have dominated Scottish football in recent years but the hope at Ibrox is that this is about to change.

Neil Lennon's side have hopes of making it 10-straight league titles - something that Steven Gerrard's side are determined to stop.

If they're to do that, Rangers will need to strengthen.

One man who's been linked with a move is Lyndon Dykes.

The Livingston striker has done exceedingly well this term after scoring nine and creating eight goals in 25 appearances.

That has led to plenty of interest in his services with Celtic, Rangers and a host of Championship clubs said to be keen.

The search for a striker has been heightened with the ongoing speculation regarding Alfredo Morelos' future.

The frontman has been heavily linked with a move away, and according to Noel Whelan, it seems that the coast is clear for Dykes to make the move to Ibrox.

Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan said: “When a team makes a signing in a position where the player currently playing that position has been linked with another club, it looks to me like a replacement.

“That then paves the way for that player to make a transfer.

“Teams will not let a player go unless they have somebody to cover that position. Now that deal has been done it is like a chain reaction.

“Livingston have got their replacement in so the door is open for Dykes to leave.”

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

It could be a busy summer for Lyndon Dykes.

The striker looks almost certain to move on before the start of the new season after a very impressive season.

Whether he's playing at the top end of the Scottish Premier League or in the Championship next term, it's going to be a big step up for Dykes and he has to be ready.

Rangers definitely need a new striker if Alfredo Morelos is heading for the exit door, and with a proven record in the top flight, he could certainly be the man to replace him.
