The race to become Scottish champions next year is already very much underway.

While Rangers have aspirations of kicking on next term and providing viable competition, the target at Parkhead is much more ambitious.

Coming away as Champions next term will mean that Celtic have made in 10 titles in a row - something that their rivals will certainly find difficult to stomach.

However if the Bhoys are to do that then they'll need to make sure that they make a success of the summer's transfer market.

A number of players have already been linked with a move to Glasgow.

Attacking emphasis seems to be the name of the game, and the latest reports certainly seem to back up that theory.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are keen on a move for Jamal Lowe.

The 25-year-old has been hugely impressive for Wigan Athletic this term as they continue to impress in the Championship.

While the Latics are currently going great guns in terms of results, they face an uncertain future after going into administration.

That means that a 12-point deduction could be coming the club's way - something that would put them at risk of being relegated to League One.

With Wigan under pressure to recoup some losses this summer, a number of names have been linked with a move away, with Lowe near the top of that list.

It's claimed that Cardiff City and Millwall are also keen on a move for the winger.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This could be a very exciting move for Celtic.

Jamal Lowe is one of the most in-demand players in the Championship right now after his impressive form for Wigan Athletic this term.

Given the club's financial struggles off the pitch, it seems almost inevitable that Lowe will move on this summer.

Celtic are keen to bring in attacking reinforcements as they target a 10th successive title win, and it seems that the 25-year-old could be a shrewd addition.

Of course he might not be the only Wigan star heading to Parkhead.

There's no secret that Celtic are looking for a striker to join the club this summer, and Joe Gelhardt is one of those on their radar.

The 18-year-old is very highly-rated and looks set for a career at the highest level.

If the Bhoys were to complete a deal for both players it could be a real signal of intent.

As well as getting two incredibly talented players, both deals would likely represent excellent value for money and that is something that is very important based on the current economic climate.

Signing players like this on the cheap with a view to selling them on in the future would be great for Celtic, and certainly something that they'll be looking to do more of.
