In Wednesday's Football Daily...

Manchester United progressed to the semi-final of the Champions League after beating Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Javier Hernandez opened the scoring for the home side, while Didier Drogba equalised after Ramires saw red for a second bookable offence. But Park Ji-Sung sealed United's path into the last four with a late winner.

Despite the furore created by Fernando Torres' starting berth, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was not surprised the Spaniard was on the the team sheet. Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti admits he does not know what the future holds for him at Stamford Bridge.

In tonight's Champions League quarter-final second leg, Tottenham face an uphill task as they attempt to overturn a 4-0 deficit against Real Madrid.


Peter Crouch is suspended for Spurs, while Vedran Corluka is an injury doubt. Steven Pienaar and Aaron Lennon are in contention to start after respective injuries.

Spurs midfielder Luka Modric believes the north Londoners can mount a genuine challenge for the Barclays Premier League next season.

In other news, the Arsenal Supporters' Trust has voted not to sell its shares to prospective new owner Stan Kroenke, while Jack Wilshere has denied he would leave Arsenal for Manchester City, after media speculation suggesting he could move to Eastlands.
