WWE Extreme Rules results: New champions crowned, five title matches, The Fiend returns

The main event of Extreme Rules was a Swamp Fight

'The Horror Show' at Extreme Rules took place on Sunday night.

It was the fourth main roster PPV that WWE has run from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with no fans, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

There was plenty of excitement ahead of the kickoff show too, with a number of matches that looked capable of stealing the show.

All eyes (no pun intended) were on Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio, who met in an 'Eye for an Eye match' while there were also five titles on the line.

The main event was a non-title, cinematic bout between Bray Wyatt and Universal Champion Braun Strowman.

They battled it out in a 'Swamp Fight' which took place away from the Performance Center.

So, let's check out the full results from Extreme Rules.

There are certainly some interesting results in there. The tone was set early on when Cesaro and Nakamura were crowned new tag team champions.

It is a shame we didn't get to see the United States Championship match due to an injury to Crews - at this moment in time, we're not sure if it's legitimate or part of the storyline.

Elsewhere, McIntyre, Asuka and Bayley all defended their titles and will take them into SummerSlam.

The main event was won by Wyatt after he 'drowned' Strowman in the Swamp Fight - which was rather crazy from the very start.

It appeared that the Universal Champion actually won the match by drowning Wyatt first, only for The Fiend to emerge and finish it.

With SummerSlam coming up next month, it's the perfect time for Wyatt's alter-ego to return, so expect to see more of The Fiend as  build towards the biggest event of the summer.
