Bundesliga players have taken part in Kicker’s annual season survey.The German magazine puts a survey out to players from German clubs and, this year, 270 players answered the 14 questions put to them.The majority of the questions concern the recent Bundesliga season but some of them relate to football in general.So, let’s take a look at the questions and results:

Best outfield player in Bundesliga

1. Robert Lewandowski - 42.6%

2. Jadon Sancho - 14.1%

3. Joshua Kimmich - 12.2%

4. Thomas Muller - 3.0%

5. Timo Werner - 2.6%

With 34 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches, it’s no wonder Lewandowski won by a landslide.

Best goalkeeper in Bundesliga

1. Manuel Neuer - 35.2%

2. Yann Sommer - 23.7%

3. Peter Gulacsi - 10.7%

4. Roman Burke - 7.4%

5. Luka Hradecjy - 4.4%

Another Bayern win with Neuer edging out Borussia Monchengladbach’s Sommer.

Winner among managers in Bundesliga

1. Hansi Flick - 61.1%

2. Marco Rose - 14.4%

3. Christian Streich - 5.9%

4. Bruno Labbadia - 5.2%

5. Julian Nagelsmann - 4.1%

Flick took over Bayern in December as caretaker manager but earned a permanent deal after transfer their season.

Loser among managers in Bundesliga

1. Jurgen Klinsmann - 32.6%

2. Florian Kohfeldt - 23.3%

3. Niko Kovac - 17.8%

4. David Wagner - 11.5%

5. Heiko Herrlich - 2.6%


Anyone else think it’s hilarious that players are voting for the ‘loser’ among managers? Well, Klinsmann ‘wins’ this one. He was appointed as Hertha Berlin’s manager in November but stepped down after just 10 weeks.

Surprise among players in Bundesliga

1. Alphonso Davies - 44.8%
2. Erling Haaland - 18.1%
3. Marcus Thuram - 5.2%
4. Christoph Bamgartner - 3.7%
5. Christopher Nkunku - 3.7%

The Canadian left-back has been incredible for Bayern this season. Davies has established himself as one of the best full-backs in world football out of nowhere.

Disappointment among players in Bundesliga

1. Mario Gotze - 30%
2. Alex Nuebel - 11.5%
3. Saloman Kalou - 5.6%
4. Guido Burgstaller - 4.1%
5. Philippe Coutinho - 3.7%

This is brutal, isn't it? Gotze only managed 15 league games this season at Borussia Dortmund as he struggled with injuries.

Surprise among teams in Bundesliga

1. SC Freiburg - 44.1%
2. Union Berlin - 32.2%
3. Borrusia Mönchengladbach - 15.2%
4. FC Koln - 1.9%
5. Rest - 6.6%

Freiburg finished eight this season after a 13th-placed finish last time around.

Disappointment among teams in Bundesliga

1. Werder Bremen - 64.8%
2. Schalke 04 - 29.6%
3. Eintracht Frankfurt - 1.5%
4. Hertha Berlin - 1.1%
5. No opinion - 1.9%

Werder Bremen finished 17th and had to go through a relegation play-off - which they triumphed on away goals against Heidenheim meaning they will stay in the Bundesliga.

1. Jurgen Klopp - 74.8%
2. Pep Guardiola - 13%
3. Hansi Flick - 4.8%
4. Julian Nagelsmann - 1.9%
5. Someone and Zidane - both 1.1%

Klopp was always going to win this as a German who won the Champions League and Premier League. But 74.8% is huge!
