Rangers FC have big plans for the coming season.

Celtic have dominated Scottish football in recent years but the hope at Ibrox is that this is about to change.

Neil Lennon's side have hopes of making it 10-straight league titles - something that Steven Gerrard's side are determined to stop.

If they're to do that, Rangers will need to strengthen in the transfer market - something that they're already showing signs of doing.

But while incomings are a priority, there could also be a key player heading for the exit door.

That man is Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos has been widely linked with a move away from Rangers this summer with interest mounting from Italy in particular.

Both Lazio and Napoli have been linked with a move, and according to Marco Negri, the striker would do very well if he was to move to Serie A.

Quoted by the Sunday Post, Negri said: "Morelos is a young man who has already done very well.

“He has great physical strength – an advantage when you are playing in Scotland where the defenders can be very tough – and an excellent ability to turn chances into goals.

“His scoring ratio is very high and, while numbers are not everything in football, they do count.

“They will have been carefully analysed by a lot of clubs and, because his numbers are so good, I think Morelos’ experience at Rangers is ending.

“He will probably change clubs and I’d like to see him in Italy. Lazio can be the right team for him.

“Why? Because I believe Simone Inzaghi is an excellent coach. We have already seen the work he has done on Felipe Caicedo.”

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Alfredo Morelos has been outstanding for Steven Gerrard's side but if the interest in him turns into something more substantial, the club will need a suitable replacement.

If the striker does have his sights set on a move, then it's in the club's best interests to move him on and attract a big a fee as possible.

That money can then be used to sign a replacement to lead the line for Rangers' attack, while also strengthening other areas of the team.

The last thing that Steven Gerrard needs is a player who isn't fully committed to the cause at Ibrox.

If Rangers are to challenge for the title next term then they'll need everyone on their game - most of all their star striker.
