Beating Liverpool and Manchester City was never going to be enough to convince Arsenal fans that a game against Aston Villa was going to be plain sailing.

Arsenal have developed a reputation as a 'Banter Club', and struggling to beat relegation-threatened Villa was always a possibility for the Gunners.

And so it proved, with Aston Villa taking a 1-0 lead into half-time following Trezeguet's goal.

It came in the 27th minute, when Trezeguet fired home after Arsenal failed to clear a corner.

The delivery was flicked on by Tyrone Mings and Trezeguet was at the back post to blast the ball beyond a helpless Emiliano Martinez.

Arsenal fans were disappointed with the defending but they were infuriated when replays showed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's involvement in the goal.

The Arsenal striker was responsible for marking Mings but replays showed him laughing with the Aston Villa defender as the corner was taken.

Aubameyang clearly wasn't alert and let Mings get a fast start that allowed him to win the header.

From there, the ball fell to Trezeguet and he scored.

Arsenal's captain, ladies and gentlemen.

Aubameyang has some apologising to do for his appalling lack of concentration.
