Arsenal star forward Andrey Arshavin believes Arsenal’s run of bad form is over after their victory over Blackpool, and the team is working together to beat Manchester United in the race for the Barclays Premier League title.

“Arsene [Wenger] wants to be first. Just like the whole team,” Arshavin said.

“Blackpool played well. They were attacking dangerously, creating problems for us in defence.

"But we did a good job, managed to deal with their threats and scored two goals. In addition, we had several good chances, but never used them.

"It's great that we could catch them on the counter-attacks, scored a third goal, and earned three points."

The 3-1 win over Blackpool broke Arsenal’s slump of five league games without a win, and the Gunners are now hoping that they will be able to back up their win against on-form Liverpool on Sunday.

Sitting second on the Barclays Premier League table, Arsenal are 10 points adrift from first placed Manchester United, but have two games in hand. Should they win those games, as well as their face off with United in May, there will be only one point separating the sides.
